Cinderella: A Fairytale

Cinderella: A Fairytale Start Date: Thursday 12/5/2019 — End Date: Saturday 12/21/2019 Admission:$18-$30 Town Hall Theatre celebrates the holidays with a delightfully original take on the classic Brothers Grimm story, CINDERELLA: A Fairytale, as part of our 75TH “TRANSFORMATIONS” Season. CINDERELLA: A Fairytale will have 12 performances, including two previews, December 5 through December 21, 2019, at Town Hall Theatre Company, 3535 School Street, in Lafayette, CA. Tickets are $18 – $30, and are available through the Box Office at (925) 283-1557 or online at www.TownHallTheatre.com. “ … beautifully formed, this is not just a great Christmas show, but a great night for all times and all ages.” – The Guardian Featuring original music, filled with humor, dance and a genuine love story, CINDERELLA: A Fairytale will appeal to audiences young and old. As we meet little Ella, her father is teaching his daughter the names and calls of all the forest birds. They enjoy a happy life together … until he remarries and her life is upended. Surrounded by cruel relations, Ella’s only allies are a flock of very clever and magical birds. This imaginative new version of the classic folktale includes many fanciful twists: the actor playing the Father transforms into the scheming Stepmother (in a nod to British panto tradition), the Prince is a geeky, asthmatic bird-watcher, and the slipper is a Doc Marten-type boot that shimmers! PWC Holiday Concerts: Reinventing Love

PWC Holiday Concerts: Reinventing Love Start Date: Friday 12/20/2019 — End Date: Friday 12/20/2019 Admission:$10-40 A fresh look at the season of yearning – from the innocent and hushed to the passionate and daring. The ethereal Jerusalem, an unexpected Irish expression of growing love, contrasts with the lilting and spirited Pues Logra Ya from the Cuban Baroque, which compares the arrival of the Child to singing love into existence. The gripping double-chorus Seikilos by Metcalf, calls us to shine and love for as long as we live. Even when unseen, there is love for everyone in the world premiere of David Conte’s Mistletoe, and Rutter’s Dancing Day dares us to dance and sing God’s true love. Space Between Space

Space Between Space Start Date: Friday 11/1/2019 — End Date: Saturday 11/16/2019 Admission:Free Aggregate Space Gallery is a video and installation space that was founded upon the phrase “install the unimaginable,” where the exhibition space was altered to adhere to the artist’s vision in an unprecedented way. Upon losing our space in July, we have entered into a temporary phase, existing between structures and in a temporary location. We are thinking about our surroundings in a new way and with Space Between Space, our members will be asked to respond to these questions with new work. Artists are frequently confronted with the task of pushing boundaries and redefining the world around them. Also, as they attempt to alter an environment, they must reconsider their own relationship to it. For these reasons, the act of operating within the very structures that we are trying to break can present an enormous task. This exhibition will address these considerations with the artist’s perceptions and investigations both on the individual and the collective level. Location: 416 26th St. Oakland Contact: Willis Meyers info@aggregatespacegallery.org URL: https://aggregatespacegallery.org/

CircleSing is an hour and a half of improvised group song led by Bryan Dyer of SoVoSó. The song evolves throughout the evening as people come and go, sing in parts, solo, and even take turns to lead. Singers of all experience levels are welcome. CircleSinging is an opportunity to tune in, listen deeply, shed beliefs and judgments, and tap into something larger than a single individual. It’s powerful. It’s embodied. It’s bonding. It’s healing. It’s life-affirming. Be heard. Join in. These times need our voices, our songs, our unique Beings. The spirit of improv teaches us to be in the moment and teaches us the resilience we need for living in these uncertain times. It joins us in a circle of human-ness. No matter what you’re feeling, bring it, your heart, and your voice to sing our world into creation – our way! Our world needs this. We need this. Come sing! Bring friends! CircleSinging can be described as vocal “jamming,” vocal improvisation, add-a-part/change-a-part, vocal orchestra, “voicestra”, community improv choir, a “drum circle” for singers, or just plain “make it up” singing. CircleSinging is a “mistake-free zone.” As a newcomer summed it up, “It doesn’t matter how you sound – the rest of the group makes you sound great! Come try it – it’s fun!” Location: 2513 Blanding Ave. Alameda Contact: info@rhythmix.org info@rhythmix.org URL: https://www.rhythmix.org/events/circlesing-dec/
